Job description

We’re Scan.com, the digital health scale-up making diagnostics accessible, fast, and transparent. Our technology speeds up diagnoses for timely treatments, improving healthcare outcomes for hundreds of patients each day.

We’re doing diagnostics differently, with solutions tailored to both patients and providers, all backed by our technology and world-class customer operations team. Our B2C marketplace simplifies booking a scan, making it as straightforward for patients as booking a hotel. Our B2B platforms provide live scheduling at the point of care and harness AI to ease workflows for physicians, attorneys, and providers.

We’re looking for a Clinical Applications Associate at an exciting time. We’ve raised over $200m in funding to date, reached profitability, and are growing 100% year on year. Millions of people wait too long for a diagnosis. Come help us fix that.

What You Will Be Getting Involved In

As a Clinical Applications Associate, you’ll be crucial in upholding the quality of the information on our systems. Your primary responsibility will be to cross-reference key patient and customer data to ensure our systems are correct, and you’ll respond to clients on an ongoing basis to keep them informed. You’ll report directly to one of our key team members, who has significant experience building out our reporting and client service functions.

Role

As a scale-up business, you can expect your role to develop over time. Here are some of the types of things you could be getting involved in:

  • Ensure diagnostic imaging and reports match the scheduled appointments in our database and records
  • Focus on the quality of our information, holding a 100% accuracy bar on everything we send out
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage requests, giving clear, concise written updates
  • Update clients on the status of their patient records, primarily via email with occasional phone contact
  • Communicate with Radiology groups via email to elevate a report to STAT priority or answer questions about appointment details
  • Troubleshoot and triage technical issues, routing them to the right team for resolution
  • Respond ad hoc to key client enquiries
  • Work with sensitive data in line with HIPAA requirements
THE TOP 3 THINGS WE WANT YOU TO ACHIEVE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR ARE
  • Be the ‘safe pair of hands’ on the team your work is consistently accurate and you visibly raise the quality bar on our data
  • Be a trusted #2 to your manager capable of picking up and completing any task in the role without hand-holding
  • Actively invest in your own development through the professional growth opportunities available to you
What You Might Bring To The Table
  • Strong knowledge of medical imaging procedures and workflow
  • A team-first mindset you know every role plays its part in the study management cycle
  • Attention to detail and a maniacal focus on ensuring information is correct
  • A commitment to hard work and a positive outlook, day in and day out
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients
  • Knowledge of radiology workflows and basic technical concepts
  • Resilience and a willingness to continuously improve by taking on critical feedback
  • Comfort navigating MS Excel Pivot Tables and/or VLOOKUPs are a strong plus
Ai Requirements

At Scan.com, AI isn’t a side project; it’s how we work. We expect everyone to use AI to think faster, remove drudgery, and multiply their output. What we care about is judgment: knowing when AI makes you sharper, when it doesn’t, and how to use it responsibly around patient data. We’ll assess this in the way that matters for this role, using the tier below. You don’t need to be an engineer. You need to be someone who reaches for the best tool and gets more done because of it.

Tier 3 — AI-Aware

You lead with subject matter expertise, but you’re comfortable using AI for things like admin, documentation, or research so you can spend more time with patients—and you know where AI stops and human judgment has to take over.

  • Your craft comes first; AI supports it. You’re curious, not resistant, and open to tools that cut admin so you spend more time on patients.
  • You can hold a sensible conversation about where AI helps your function and where human judgment is non-negotiable.

One assessment principle across all tiers: we’re testing judgment and adaptability, not whether you’ve memorized today’s tools. Tools change quarterly; the ability to learn and apply them is what compounds.

A VIEW ON OUR CULTURE

We’re building something that matters. Every scan we speed up is a real person waiting on an answer, and that urgency runs through everything we do. We move fast, we own outcomes, and take pride in our output. If you like ambiguity, working with ambitious people, and want your work to visibly move the needle, you’ll feel at home here. For you to be successful at Scan.com you must embody our values.

OUR VALUES
Always Play Offense
  • You don’t quit on hard problems. Fail fast, dust off, go again.
  • You celebrate wins, then seek the next opportunity.
  • You see it, you fix it. No task is beneath you, at any level.
Build with the Best
  • Talent recognizes talent. You actively bring quality hires into the business.
  • You trust your colleagues to deliver.
  • You open-source your knowledge. You’re never a single point of failure.
Care Deeply, Challenge Directly
  • Strong opinions, weakly held. You welcome challenge and feedback.
  • You get to the point: direct challenge plus an alternative solution.
  • You ask “why”. Before calling something bad, understand why it exists.
Embrace Growth, Be Curious
  • You proactively seek feedback, whatever your level.
  • You invest in understanding our business: teams, customers, processes.
  • You invest in your own growth and are willing to unlearn.

We’re a high-performing team with low ego. We hire people who are brilliant and kind, who give it straight, back it up with evidence, and change their mind when the facts change. We’ll give you real ownership early, the tools to do the best work of your career, and colleagues who raise your game. In return, we ask for high standards, genuine care for patients and each other, and the drive to leave things better than you found them.

How We Will Interview You

We try to keep our interview process short and will move through the stages quickly. Due to availability, the order may change, but generally speaking, this is what you can expect:

  • Introductory call/interview with our Senior Talent Partner. The call is usually via telephone and will last around 30 minutes.
  • Should it feel like there is an initial fit for all, we will invite you to our office for an in-person interview and a very short task to test your attention to detail. You’ll also be assessed on your AI fluency at the tier above.
  • Offer!
What We Offer
  • Salary Range 45-55k
  • Flexible remote or hybrid work options
  • Dedicated personal development budget
  • Medical, vision, and dental coverage
  • 28+ days of paid time off across PTO and wellbeing days, so you can show up at your best
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401k retirement plan
  • All the equipment you need to do your best work
  • Inclusive, people-first policies designed by our team, for our tea
