Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Physical Therapy Technician to support PTs/PTAs under supervision, assisting with patient exercises and documentation. You will help maintain PT workflow, prepare equipment, and support a busy clinic environment in a patient-centered, team-based setting.

• Maintain a clean, organized PT work area and support busy office operations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate documentation on exercise flow sheets.

How you can make a difference

• Assist with assigned responsibilities by the supervising PTs or PTAs to provide services as specified in the physical therapy plan of care within the scope of on-the-job training with supervision by a PT or PTA who is on the premises and readily available to respond in person.
• Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients performing exercises under the direct supervision of a licensed PT provider.
• Understanding of basic exercises and PT terminology.
• Team player and willing to learn.
• Help promote and maintain PT workflow.
• Be able to work in a busy office environment and multitask.
• Provide set ups for and break downs after the delivery of PT services.
• Maintaining a clean and organized PT work area.
• "Right hand and eyes" to PT providers.
• Help implement treatment for all assigned PT patients.
• Assist with trained administrative support duties: answering phones, patient scheduling, taking payments, verifying insurance, and obtaining insurance authorizations.
• Maintain confidentiality of facility, patient information, and HIPPA.
• Accurately document on exercise flow sheets and communicating patient status to supervisory PT providers.
• Compliant with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within the facility.
