Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 7–11 months of equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, laboratory specimens and other information for patient evaluation per Medical Assistant competencies.
• Assist the provider by documenting notes, orders and prescriptions in the Electronic Medical Record for provider review.
• Prepare and maintain clinic areas, including examination rooms, equipment, and supply stocking.
• Return routine patient calls for prescriptions or pre-certifications with documentation.
• Coordinate ancillary services and gather pertinent medical records.
• Maintain professional demeanor and protect patient confidentiality in all interactions.
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phones, updating and filing records, coding insurance forms, scheduling appointments, and arranging hospital admissions and lab services.
