Job summary

Senior Community Care of Northern Kentucky in Florence, KY is seeking a Clinic Support/Scheduler for our PACE program. You will perform administrative duties and some clinical tasks under the Clinic Manager, including scheduling appointments and preparing exam rooms.

The role requires a state-approved Medical Assisting or CNA program completion, at least one year of experience with frail or elderly populations, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • State approved Medical Assisting or Certified Nurses Aide program required.
  • Minimum of one-year experience with frail or elderly population.
  • Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule inside medical appointments with clinical staff.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms and keep them clean throughout the day.
  • Take and record vital signs and medical histories.
  • Provide clinical tasks within scope of practice as directed by the provider.
  • Restock and manage clinic supplies and inventory.
  • Greet and check in patients at arrival.
  • Follow policy for incident reporting and be flexible with duties.

About the job:

The Clinic Support Specialist: The primary purposes of the Clinic Support staff are to perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Clinic Manager. Responsibilities include, scheduling of inside medical appointments with our Clinical Staff, prepare exam/treatment rooms for patient examinations, and perform appropriate clinical tasks within their scope of practice, as directed by the provider Taking and recording vital signs and medical histories; preparing exam rooms and patients for clinic appointments; providing medical treatments within their scope of practice as directed by the PCP or RN, maintaining all required documentation for Homecare appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have means of transportation.
  • Education: Successful completion of a state approved training program in Medical Assisting or Certified Nurses Aide *Required*
  • Experience: Minimum of one-year experience working with a frail or elderly population required.
  • Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and as delegated by the licensed nurse.
  • Ability to understand medical charts, doctor’s orders, the participant’s plan of care, Primary Care Provider orders, and, to communicate with participants and staff.
  • Schedule participant visits within the PACE clinic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean throughout
    the day.
  • Greet and check in patients arriving at the clinic.
  • Perform appropriate clinical tasks within their scope of practice, as directed by the provider such as giving injections, basic wound care, toenail trimming in non-diabetic participants, and removing sutures.
  • Restock clinic supplies in each exam room at the end of each day per established par levels.
  • In collaboration with the clinic manager, orders, receives and stocks clinic/medical supplies.
  • Follow correct policy and procedure for reporting of incidents: staff, residents, etc.
  • Performs other duties as required or requested.
  • Prepare exam/treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean throughout the day.
