UCLA Health is seeking a Security Officer for the Thousand Oaks Clinic to protect patients, staff, and visitors. Under supervision, you will perform patrols, document activity, and enforce clinic policies and state laws while maintaining required certifications and driving records.

The position emphasizes professional communication, public relations, and the ability to resolve issues within set policies. Physical stamina for patrols, lifts, and restraining situations is essential.

Qualifications

• Possess current Guard Card, D.O.J. Chemical Agent, CPR, driver’s license, and BLS certifications.
• Ability to clearly and concisely express ideas using appropriate vocabulary and spelling.
• Ability to complete continual training classes as required.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Thousand Oaks Primary & Specialty Care employees, Management, Security Management, Local Law Enforcement and surrounding community.
• Ability to independently resolve issues working within set policies and procedures.
• Ability to know and use available resources in order to solve problems.
• Ability to operate security related equipment and general office equipment.
• Ability to relay information, either in writing or verbally, in a professional manner.
• Knowledge of security program policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of geography to expedite calls.
• Knowledge of penal and radio codes and language used in radio communications.
• Physical ability to handle intervention incidents including restraints.
• Physically able to patrol, stand, lift, and restrain as needed.

Responsibilities

• Protect assets, staff, patients, and visitors in and around Thousand Oaks Clinic.
• Perform regular patrols and document routine activities, incidents, and duties.
• Enforce policies and state laws; follow guidelines including regulatory requirements.
• Incumbent must maintain and verify California DMV Pull Notice driving record.
