Job description
The Clinic Operations Director is the care team Director with the administrative and operational oversight of the Behavioral Health program, which is integrated into the other services provided by Horizon Health. This individual embraces a team-based approach and is competent to function as an integral part of the patient health care team to improve outcomes for patients. S/he will provide leadership, consultation, direction, and training to design and implement care programs throughout appropriate sites. Collaboration with the other directors within the organization to enhance the behavioral health program is essential as well as creating strategies and developing specific department/ organizational goals for the behavioral health team. The scope of this role is broad and requires an experienced, strong leader with the ability to plan, coordinate, implement, and assess the progress of the treatment program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and promote the mission, vision, and values of Horizon Health both in the workplace and the community.
- Maintain excellent working knowledge of behavioral medicine and evidence-based treatments for medical and mental health conditions.
- Use evidence-based medicine and population health methodologies to develop and expand the behavioral health program.
- Plan, coordinate, implement, and assess the department's goals and progress.
- Understand social determinants of the population served.
- Supervise and mentor staff providing behavioral health and other services.
- Provide direct supervision of medical staff and Clinical Therapists, including Licensed Clinical Social Workers, masters level social workers, clinical psychologists, and LPCCs.
- Collaborate with medical providers on program quality and outcomes related to evidence-based treatments.
- Lead regular staff meetings to ensure open communication.
- Ensure compliance with guidelines established by CMS and other bodies.
- Manage department budgets, policies, procedures, and goals.
- Work effectively within a fast-paced primary care environment and interdisciplinary teams.
- Build a positive workplace culture and facilitate problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Support and supervise MAT programs at all sites.
- Address emergency situations and promote a safe environment.
- Evaluate and resolve patient complaints.
- Maintain professional rapport with patients, providers, and team members.
- Audit patient records for compliance and completeness.
- Maintain tracking and quality reporting.
- Attend leadership meetings and report on program goals and progress.
- Conduct staff performance evaluations, participate in recruitment, and develop staff schedules.
- Monitor and improve clinical service quality, including utilization review and quality assurance.
- Develop assessment and treatment protocols collaboratively with providers.
- Design and implement training programs on integrated care topics.
- Develop clinical curriculum and collaborate with educational institutions for internship/externship programs.
- Travel to other clinic sites as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
