Job summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to patients and families, directing and supervising nursing care, and aligning with the professional practice model at OSU James. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care across the care team.

Required qualifications include a CCNE/ACEN-accredited nursing program and an active Ohio license or interim permit; relevant experience is preferred in a fast-paced plastics/cancer care setting.

Job Title: Clinic Nurse (RN) - Plastics Department: James | SSCBC Surgical Scope of Position

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care.

The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization, the clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Position Summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit.
• *Experience in relevant care setting preferred.

Additional Information

The SSCBC Plastics Unit at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides specialized care for patients undergoing reconstructive, plastic, and cosmetic surgical procedures. Registered Nurses deliver comprehensive pre- and post-operative care, patient education, pain management, and care coordination while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes. This fast-paced specialty area offers nurses the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population while developing expertise in surgical recovery and reconstructive care.
