Clinic Nurse (CMA or LPN)

Clinic Nurses at Charleston East Family Practice provide support to providers in the direct and indirect care of patients. The role is full time (40 hours per week) with hourly rates of $19.61 per hour for CMA positions and $22.72 per hour for LPN positions, plus sign‑on bonuses of $3,000 for CMAs and $5,000 for LPNs.

Responsibilities

• Accept reassignment at management direction as needed to meet staffing levels
• Administer medication as directed by the provider
• Assist providers with patient exams, treatments, and procedures
• Cleans, stocks, and maintains exam rooms and workspaces, ensuring adequate supplies and adherence to infection control policies
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments based on practice needs
• Collects patient data (height, weight, vital signs, and other measurements)
• Documents collected data and appropriate information accurately in patient records
• Keeps providers informed of patient requests, needs, and observations that may influence assessment and follow‑up
• Documents responses to patient history/screening questions
• Follows universal precautions at all times during contact with patients, equipment, instruments, and specimens
• Performs laboratory duties, including phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic waived testing
• Coordinates reference lab testing, handling specimens and documenting reports
• Performs general clerical duties such as receiving and mailing patient test results, preparing charge tickets, transcribing data, filing, and ordering supplies
• Relays information between provider(s) and client(s), and communicates provider advice, instructions, orders, and results as directed
• Routes messages to provider as appropriate
• Schedules patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, referral, or additional office visits

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire
• LPN candidates must hold a current, active Licensed Practical Nurse license in the state of Illinois

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly wage based on experience: $19.61/hr for CMA, $22.72/hr for LPN (range up to $35.22/hr)
