Job description

Clinic Nurses are responsible for supporting providers in the direct and indirect care of Practice Management patients. They perform patient or office related duties including clinical measurements, data collection, and accurate documentation in patient records.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30AM–4:30PM (with one scheduled early day per week). Full‑time, 40hours per week. Shift: 1st shift.

Location: Bonutti Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Administers medication as directed by the provider.
• Assists providers with patient exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Cleans and stocks exam rooms and other work spaces on an ongoing basis.
• Performs all tasks related to stocking and cleaning in accordance with regulatory and infection control policies, including discarding outdated items and labeling multi‑dose vials with date and initials, and disposing them per guidelines.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments based on practice needs.
• Collects patient data such as heights, weights, vital signs, and other measurements.
• Documents appropriate data and information.
• Keeps providers aware of patient requests, needs, and observations relevant to assessment and care.
• Documents responses to patient history/screening questions for provider use during assessments and examinations.
• Follows universal precautions at all times during contact with patients, equipment, instruments, or specimens.
• Performs and documents laboratory duties, which may include phlebotomy, specimen collection, and routine basic waived testing.
• Handles and coordinates reference lab testing specimens, reports, and documentation.
• Performs general clerical duties such as receiving and mailing patient test results, preparing charge tickets, transcribing data to physical or referral forms, and monitoring or ordering supplies.
• Relays information between providers and clients, including communications with patients, families, pharmacies, nursing homes, consultancy office staff, insurers, and facilities.
• Communicates provider advice, instructions, orders, and results at provider instructions, including accurate documentation.
• Routes messages to the provider as appropriate.
• Schedules patients for diagnostic, therapeutic, referral, or additional office visits.
• Accepts reassignment as directed by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS or CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with Illinois state licensure, or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certified in the state of Illinois.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay starts at $19.61 per hour for CMA and $22.72 per hour for LPN, with potential to grow to $35.22 per hour based on experience.
