Job summary

The Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a Medical Technician/Receptionist to support physicians and mid-level practitioners on clinic days and to perform clerical duties on non-clinic days. You will assist with patient flow, charting, and basic exam-room tasks.

Responsibilities include handling calls, scheduling tests, processing referrals, maintaining exam rooms, and ensuring OSHA and safety compliance while delivering service in a fast-paced medical office.

Qualifications

• CCMA or CNA preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer clinic phone calls and create patient charts.
• Schedule outside testing for patients as needed.
• Send patient referrals to other physicians as needed.
• Back up to Staff Assistant for tasks as needed.
• Maintain patient flow and exam rooms; perform basic skills like vital signs and point-of-care testing.
• Review patient history.
• Order X-rays.
• Draw injections.
• Wound care; suture and staple removal; splinting/casting.
• DME application; clean and stock exam rooms.
• Ensure OSHA and safety regulations are followed.
• Other duties as assigned.
