Qualifications

• Medical patient care experience and training of a general nursing nature.
• Computer proficiency recommended.

Responsibilities

• Performs general nursing care to patients and administers prescribed medications and treatments.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during treatment, examination, and testing.
• Observes, records, and reports patients' conditions and reactions to drugs and treatment; dispenses medication as directed.
• Maintains timely flow of patients and greets them for examinations.
• Screens patients for information and instructs them on sample collection and tests.
• Arranges for patient testing, admissions and insurance referrals.
• Responds to and refers incoming calls; instructs patients on medications/treatment instructions.
• Maintains and reviews patient records; posts test and examination results.
• Keeps exam rooms supplied and clean; lists needed medical supplies.
• Assists in patient testing to adhere to professional standards; performs EKGs; removes sutures and dressing changes.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed by the provider; codes for test approvals.
