Teche Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center, seeks an entry-level Medical Assistant in Morgan City, LA. You will support providers and nurses with daily clinic duties, document in the EHR, and coordinate with front desk staff to ensure timely patient flow.

The role requires strong communication, basic math, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Office hours are Mon-Thu 7:30am-5:30pm and Fri 8:00am-12:00noon.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required.
• Completion of a medical assistant program preferred.
• No prior experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate activities with front desk staff and triage patients.
• Greet patients and verify information via interviews and screenings.
• Document information in the EHR per Teche Health guidelines.
• Maintain and secure patient information.
• Communicate wait times and follow up on missed appointments.
• Measure vitals and basic clinical measurements as required.
• Maintain logs and supplies under Nursing Supervisor directions.
