Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Clinic Care Technician to help manage daily patient flow across Duluth clinics. You will greet and room patients, obtain vitals, document in the EHR, stock exam rooms, and support clerical duties.

This casual position may float to multiple clinic sites to cover staffing needs. You will assist with scheduling, follow up on no-shows, and support providers with both administrative and basic patient care tasks.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Experience in healthcare or patient care preferred.
• Experience using an electronic medical record system preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology helpful.
• Ability to follow directions and perform tasks within scope.

Responsibilities

• Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks.
• Supports patient scheduling and work queue needs as assigned.
• Follows up on no-shows and reviews/adds on with providers.
• Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, measures vitals.
• Chaperones exams as needed.
• Documents in electronic medical record and manages questionnaires.
• Performs limited patient care tasks based on training.
• Processes mail, scans, copies, faxes, prints and updates forms, answers calls, and may place supply orders.

Job Description

The Clinic Care Technician is primarily responsible for providing assistance with daily patient flow in the clinic setting. These duties may include greeting and rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting in patient chart, stocking, and cleaning exam room, ordering and maintaining clinic supplies, assisting with clerical duties, and all other duties as assigned. This position may float to support other areas as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports and assists providers and clinical staff with administrative and select patient care tasks

• Greets patients, supports virtual visits, completes identification verification, height, weight and obtains vitals
• Chaperones exams as needed
• Administers questionnaires and documents in electronic medical record
• May perform limited patient care tasks based on training
• Processes incoming mail, scans, copies, and faxes as needed, prints and updates forms, answers internal phone calls, and may place office supply orders

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer service skills

Licensure/Certification Qualifications

Certification/Licensure Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
