Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient treatments under supervision of a healthcare provider
  • Perform basic tasks, screening procedures and specimen collection
  • Screen for and communicate changes in patient condition
  • Document patient care provided
  • Maintain equipment and medical supplies, reorder stock, clean and troubleshoot as needed
  • Maintain examination area
  • May perform clerical duties such as filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, billing, and patient registration
  • Present a friendly, professional demeanor and appearance
  • Refer to Scope of Practice Inventory for RN, LPN, MA and CA as indicated

The salary range for this position is $18.35 - $24.77 (Hourly Rate)

Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the rules outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.

Description

The Clinic Assistant (CA) reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of healthcare provider, assists with performing patient treatments.
  • Performs basic tasks, screening procedures and specimen collection.
  • Screens for and communicates changes in patient condition.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintains examination area.
  • May perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, billing, and patient registration.
  • Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Refer to Scope of Practice Inventory for RN, LPN, MA and CA (RMG or NMG as indicated)
Qualifications
Required
  • One or more years recent experience working as a clinic assistant in a physician office or hospital setting; or completion of a training program in a medically related field; or currently enrolled in a medically related college degree program with an intent of entering the healthcare field
  • Basic Life Support Certification from an American Heart Association accredited source within 90 days if being hired for The Health Network. Basic Life Support Certification is required effective day one if being hired in the Academic Medical System (central region).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
