The Clinic Assistant will support clinic staff with a variety of clinical and administrative responsibilities. Clinical duties will include providing direct patient care, rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, reviewing patient charts in the EMR system, assisting with minor procedures, administering immunizations, and preparing charts for upcoming appointments.
The Clinic Assistant will also assist with inbox management, including contacting patients with test results, reviewing and responding to patient messages, and completing patient forms as needed.
The primary role will be to provide coverage for staff absences, including sick calls and vacations. During periods of downtime, the Clinic Assistant will assist with administrative responsibilities, such as InBasket management and other tasks that support the overall workflow of the clinic.
BLS certification, Clinical experience preferred
REQUIRED--- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), RMA, CCMA, EMT or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Minnesota and Wisconsin Licenses required
High school diploma
Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program, practical nursing degree program, EMT certification, CNA certification.
Responsibilities will differ according to the assistant’s certifications/licenses.
The clinic department is kept secure by limited badge entry and alarm system. Potential for exposure to infectious patients or materials, hazardous or toxic substances such as cleaning solutions and potential for needle sticks.
