Job summary

Claiborne Medical Center, a member of Covenant Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Nursing Home unit to provide professional nursing care on the night shift. The role focuses on coordinating care plans, performing nursing assessments, and educating residents and families.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, supervise LPNs and CNAs, participate in unit committees, and ensure safety and quality standards while supporting new staff during orientation.

Qualifications

• RN license required in the state of the issuing authority.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in nursing home care and educational responsibilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing history and initiates patient/resident education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing history and initiates patient/resident education.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members.
• Implements plan of care appropriate to diagnosis. Evaluates care outcomes.
• Problem solves and coordinates unit/patient/resident care assignments, with supervision.
• Introduces new employees/students to unit routines
• Participates on unit-based committees.
• Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills (check list) to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
• Supervises LPN’s, Nursing Assistants, C.N.A.’s, HUC’s Techs and sitters.
• Assists in maintaining a safe environment for all residents which may include reporting to appropriate managerial staff equipment that is out of order, suspicion of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect and reporting of suspicion of criminal activities.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

New graduate, within first (1st) year of orientation (move to level II after one (1) year experience).

Licensure Requirement:

Valid Tennessee RN license. CPR required.
