Job summary

Teton County Parks and Recreation’s Recreation Center is seeking a part-time Route Setter for the Climbing Gym in Jackson, WY. The role focuses on building engaging routes, maintaining holds, and upholding highest safety standards for climbers of all ages and skill levels.

The Route Setter will create challenging, educational climbs, manage gear, and collaborate with staff to promote a safe, welcoming climbing community while adhering to all facility policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous top rope and lead belaying experience required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Follow climbing gym policies and procedures.
• Perform safety checks of harnesses, ropes, belay devices, anchors, and repair as needed.
• Maintain route setting equipment and organize holds.
• Create inclusive climbing routes for all ages and skill levels.
• Respond to emergencies per Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
