The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our outdoor-focused team in Denver, CO. Your office is the job site, and you’ll learn pruning, removal, and climbing skills on real projects with safety as the priority.

Starting pay is $22–$25 per hour with full-time, on-site work and up to 25% travel. We provide training, equipment, health benefits, and opportunities for career advancement within a large, employee-owned company.

• Willingness to climb trees and learn climbing procedures.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates as required by state law.

Responsabilidades

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
• Perform pruning and removal tasks safely and skillfully.
• Identify trees and follow pruning guidelines; prune, thin, and remove deadwood.
• Assist in installing cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees; operate tools and equipment safely.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Rate of pay: $22.00-25.00/Hourly

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to climb trees! (Yes, we will pay you to do that.)
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills
• Learn to perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Learn how to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
