Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader in Sacramento, CA. The role involves directing a crew, planning tasks, and performing arboricultural care on site. You will work in varying outdoor conditions and operate essential equipment, including chainsaws and aerial lifts.

Qualifications include love of the outdoors and completion of the Davey orientation and safety courses. Preferred licenses include ISA and TCIA certifications for advanced standing and career

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses and related licenses/certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew and equipment to perform arboricultural care for clients.
• Supervise jobsite hazards, plan, and use equipment.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood in tree canopies.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees.
• Mentor crew through Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).

What You’ll Do

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.
