Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to direct a crew on on-site tree care projects in Michigan. You will manage equipment, perform pruning, removal, and installation of support systems, and mentor teammates through the career development program.

Qualified candidates should love the outdoors, complete required safety and orientation courses on hire, and ideally hold ISA TCIA credentials and pesticide certifications.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and willingness to learn safety procedures.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving upon hire.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide licenses and related certificates.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew and equipment to execute assigned work.
• Lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients.
• Oversee jobsite hazards, plan, equipment (H.O.P.E) process.
• Prune, thin and remove deadwood from canopies.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees when required.
• Mentor crew through Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications
