The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering an apprenticeship to become a climbing arborist in Broomfield, CO. You’ll be paid $22.00Hourly and learn to climb trees while joining a tree crew, progressing through pruning and removal tasks and safety training.

Work is on-site with opportunities for advancement and a strong focus on developing professional skills in industry standards, safety, and equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: pesticide/licenses as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of the tree crew.
• progressively learn new skills while performing pruning and removal services.
• Identify trees and apply industry pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, lifts).
• Grow your skills and responsibilities over time.

Position Overview

Rate of pay: $22.00/Hourly Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Learn to climb trees! (Yes, we will pay you to do that.)
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressively learning new skills
• Learn to perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Learn how to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
