Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Tree Trimmer to perform pruning and removal duties with emphasis on health and safety of trees and surrounding areas.

You will climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, work with a crew and foreman, and handle equipment such as chainsaws and lifts. This role offers on-site work, full-time status, and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• Outdoor work enthusiasm required.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights preferred.
• Complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses/certificates if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Trim and remove trees and prune to health and safety.
• Operate with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Work with crew and foreman as part of a team.
• Prune, thinning and removing deadwood across canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Remove hazardous trees and maintain tools/equipment.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
