Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Cypress, TX is seeking a dynamic Utility Tree Climber to prune and remove trees for major electric utilities. You will climb using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems and work outdoors in varying conditions.

This permanent, on-site role offers a $1,500 sign-on bonus for experienced climbers, overtime opportunities, travel up to 50%, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance and a pension.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Must be able to manually climb trees
• Must have utility line clearance tree experience
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire
• First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform pruning and removal for utility providers
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other objects
• Maintain and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws and aerial lifts
• Work as an active crew member with ground crew and foreperson
• Demonstrate safety and skilled workmanship on job sites

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Required: Must be able to manually climb trees
• Required: Must have utility line clearance tree experience
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
