Job summary

Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Environmental Sustainability and Resiliency task force seeks an Undergraduate/Graduate College Aide to assist in climate budgeting analyses and publication preparation. The role offers exposure to city budget processes and data-driven recommendations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data visualization skills.
• Interest in NYC climate change programmatic and policy efforts; educational or professional experience in this area is a plus.
• Interest in NYC government; educational or professional experience in this area is a plus.
• Ability to learn quickly, understand the perspectives of multiple stakeholders, and approach challenges with creativity and objectivity.
• Works well with others in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist ESR Budget Unit in budget review and climate budgeting research.
• Data cleaning, copy editing, and designing the publication for the Climate Budgeting report (May 2027).
• Support preparation for publication and expand ESR task force’s ability to evaluate budget decisions from climate perspective.
• Contribute to understanding impacts of city investments on sustainability and resiliency.
