Job summary

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) invites applications for a full-time Climate and Energy Associate to support a regional team addressing the energy, environmental, and community impacts of data center development in the Southeast. You will help with research, policy tracking, and creation of public education materials while advancing responsible data center policies and clean energy solutions.

• Research and information analysis on data centers, climate, and clean energy issues.
• Tracking regional news relative to data centers and maintaining relevant databases.
• Development of written public education and advocacy materials such as website articles, pamphlets, and letters to the editor.
• Assist with outreach to community members, supporters, and partner organizations by phone, email, and social media.
• Develop foundational knowledge of data centers and the utility regulatory landscape in the Southeast.
• Research, monitor, and analyze state and local policy developments related to data center regulations, climate, and energy issues.
• Additional work to support SACE's mission to improve energy affordability through the reduction of reliance on fossil fuels across the Southeast.

Job description

The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) seeks a full-time Climate and Energy Associate to focus on supporting a regional team working on the energy, economic, environmental, infrastructure, and community impacts of large-scale data center development in Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The Climate and Energy Associate will primarily assist with research, information gathering, policy tracking, preparation of public education materials, and other project support related to responsible data center policies and clean energy solutions across the Southeast. The Climate and Energy Associate will also support SACE with continuing to build public understanding and engagement around clean energy solutions to the climate crisis.
