About the Opportunity

Length of Fellowship: 10 months

Location Type:Remote

If you enjoy turning complex data into actionable insights, this role offers a hands‑on opportunity to work at the intersection of analytics and corporate sustainability. As a Climate and Decarbonization Strategy Associate in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful climate resiliency initiatives with JLL. This is a fully remote position with the ability to work from anywhere in the US.

In this role, you’ll play a crucial role at the forefront of corporate sustainability, helping major corporate and investor clients measure and manage the energy performance of their real estate portfolios. You'll dive deep with JLL's energy auditing team, transforming complex data into the actionable decarbonization roadmaps that guide properties toward a net‑zero future.

This position offers an incredible opportunity to strengthen your data analytics and sustainability expertise, grow your network, and contribute to meaningful emissions reduction across complex building portfolios.

About Our Partner: JLL

At JLL, a leading global professional services firm specializing in real estate and investment management, the teams are driven by their mission to shape the future of real estate for a better world. They are at the forefront of the industry’s transition to a more sustainable future, advising clients on their decarbonization journeys and embedding sustainability into every aspect of the real estate lifecycle. Their commitment is backed by ambitious goals, including achieving net‑zero carbon emissions across their own operations and helping their clients do the same. Joining JLL’s Climate and Decarbonization Strategy team means becoming part of a dynamic, global team of experts dedicated to innovation and excellence. Here, you will learn about the opportunities within commercial real estate to drive energy efficiency and decarbonization.

Partner-Provided Benefits (in addition to Climate Corps Benefits):

Access to JLL's learning and development tools, including a full suite of Commercial Real Estate education.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide support to the climate and decarbonization team, specific to energy and decarbonization goals, collaborating with team members as needed.
  • Leverage Microsoft Excel and additional 3rd Party analysis tools to support the team developing decarbonization pathways for corporate occupier and owner/investor real estate clients.
  • Be accountable for collecting and reviewing energy use data; building information; Energy Star Portfolio Manager profile development; and regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to analyze utility data and determine upstream opportunities for energy reduction.
  • Improve upon processes and procedures for data collection and monitoring to support data analytics.
  • Research and stay current on regulatory issues to enhance efforts.
  • Utilize JLL's AI tools to enhance efficiency.
  • Establish and optimize strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the service delivery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Engineering, math, environmental science, or other related background.
  • Data management and analytics experience.
  • Passionate about working towards a sustainable future.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and be a team player.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in written and numeric work.
  • Proactive in asking questions and comfortable working independently.
  • Possess strong analytical and creative critical thinking skills.
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis.
  • Commitment to a fair workplace that honors the experiences, voices, viewpoints, and values of all individuals.
  • Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
  • May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Nice‑to‑haves

  • Familiarity with commercial building regulations in the US.
  • Experience with commercial real estate.
  • Understanding of building design, construction, and operations across multiple real estate asset types.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical data analysis and/or engineering delivery, and presentation delivery.

We encourage everyone interested in this position to apply, even if you don’t meet every qualification. We value all perspectives and believe that a unique background can bring significant strengths to this role, even if some qualifications are not fully met.

  • Health care coverage with 100% of health care insurance premiums covered by SEI.
  • Fellows receive 10 personal days for a standard 10‑month fellowship (prorated for longer terms), which may be used for vacation or sick time. Additionally, Fellows follow their partner site’s holiday schedule to observe the same holidays as their team.
