About the role
AI Data Management (AIDM) is an AI operations and data company. We build client portals, command centers, CRM systems, dashboards and AI agents for nonprofits, healthcare and mission-driven organizations. We start with the data and the process, then add AI on top. Our team works across several countries, and San Luis Obispo is our home base in the US.
We work with a small number of large clients, and we go deep with each one. Our CEO leads the executive relationships and new sales. We’re hiring a Client Success Manager to own the rest of the client relationship: the day-to-day requests, the training, the follow-up and the next piece of work.
You’ll be our clients’ main contact and our CEO’s right hand in client work. You’ll learn each client’s business, and our tools well enough to test them on the client’s behalf. You find out what the client needs, agree it with them, and hand it to our operations and engineering leads to build. Then you make sure it’s delivered and the client is happy with it.
This is our local role. You’ll work next to our CEO in San Luis Obispo part of the week.
What you’ll do
Own the client relationship
- Be the main day-to-day contact for each client’s managers and teams.
- Run regular check-in calls, and turn every call into clear next steps.
- Answer client requests quickly, or get the right person on them the same day.
- Keep clients updated on what shipped, what comes next and what we need from them.
- Raise risks early, such as a quiet client, a slipping date or a request outside the agreed scope.
Onboard and train
- Prepare and onboard new clients: kickoff, access, training and the first weeks.
- Learn our products well: client portals, command centers, AI agents and our AI training classes.
- Test new features on the client’s behalf before the client sees them.
- Train client staff on our tools, live and on video calls.
Grow each account
- Find out what each client needs next, and turn it into a clear proposal with our leadership team.
- Run introductory demos for prospects and new users: what we do, our AI training classes and how to access our sandboxes.
- Join our CEO at client and prospect meetings, in person and online.
- Keep each client’s record and our sales pipeline current in our command center.
Work with AI
- Stay curious about AI. Try new tools as they come out, test what they do well and where they fall short, and share what you learn with the team.
- Be confident with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. We teach our clients to use AI, so you’ll often show them how, and we train you on our own tools and classes.
What we’re looking for
- 5 or more years in client-facing roles, such as client success, account management, project management or product management.
- Experience at a software, SaaS, AI, digital agency or consulting company.
- Clear, warm written and spoken English. You’re confident leading a call with a client’s managers and keeping it on track.
- You stay calm with a difficult client and hold the line on scope, politely.
- Organized. You track many open items across several clients and close them.
- You learn new software fast and explain it to people who aren’t technical.
- You already use AI tools in your daily work, and you’re keen to use them more.
- Comfortable with Google Workspace.
- Based in or near San Luis Obispo, and able to work from our workspace on in-person days.
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Able to travel to client meetings a few times a year.
Nice to have
- Experience with nonprofit, healthcare or education clients.
- Experience growing accounts through renewals, upsells or new projects.
- Experience with a CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Experience running product demos or user training.
What we offer
- The equipment you need to do the job well.
- Paid holidays.
- Room to grow as AIDM grows.
- Training, including our own AI training classes.
- An AI-forward team. You’ll use new AI tools every day and help shape how we use them.
