Client Solutions Associate (Sales and Business Development)

At RES, we're looking for purpose-driven individuals who are passionate about restoration and sustainability, and who want their work to make a lasting environmental impact. Our team members go above and beyond, bringing initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic to every project. Collaboration is key—we thrive on teamwork, open communication, and diverse perspectives. In a field that constantly changes, we value those who are resilient, adaptable, and resourceful in the face of challenges. If you're intellectually curious, eager to learn, and ready to help restore ecosystems and protect natural resources, you'll find your place here.

RES is looking for a Client Solutions Associate to join our team.

As a Client Solutions Associate at RES, you'll be an integral part of our dynamic team, supporting Client Solution Managers throughout the exciting sales life cycle! You'll help move opportunities from initial identification through qualification, pursuit, proposal, interview, selection, and follow-up. This role isn't just about research and coordination; it's about empowering our Client Solution Managers to build strong client relationships and craft winning deal strategies.
This position is also a structured development pathway for those eager to become Client Solution Managers. You'll benefit from coaching, job shadowing, training, and progressively challenging assignments that will equip you with the essential skills needed for success. To thrive in this role, you'll need a 'development mindset' that shows attentiveness and ownership in every opportunity, along with exceptional organization, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a passion for learning about RES markets, solutions, and sales processes.

Your progression into a Client Solution Manager role will depend on your demonstrated readiness, sustained performance, business needs, and position availability. Join us in this exciting journey and let's achieve great things together!

Why You'll Love This Job
  • You’ll grow your career in purpose-driven work. From the start, you'll contribute to projects that restore land and water and help solve some of today's most complex environmental challenges.
  • You’ll build connections across teams and industries. You'll engage with experts in ecology, engineering, policy, and construction—while learning how RES supports clients in achieving regulatory and environmental goals.
  • You’ll gain skills that last. Whether it’s understanding contract structures, creating presentation materials, or reading market signals, you'll develop a foundation in business development, strategy, and client engagement.
  • You’ll be part of a high-performing, supportive team. We'll help you succeed through mentorship, structured learning, and real-world experience in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

A Day in the Life

No two days look the same. As a Client Solution Associate, you keep opportunities moving so our Client Solution Managers can focus on strategy and client relationships.

Your morning might start by scanning public notices, industry announcements, and market intelligence for projects that fit RES's capabilities, then researching prospective clients, consultants, and competitors to turn early leads into real opportunities.

By afternoon, you could prepare for a Go/No-Go discussion: gather project details, flag potential challenges, and organize the information the team needs to decide where to invest. When a client meeting is on the calendar, you build the briefing materials, support the presentation, capture action items, and drive follow-up.

As pursuits advance, you coordinate across technical, operational, financial, and marketing teams to track deadlines and pull proposals together. Along the way, you keep the CRM accurate and produce the reports, dashboards, and market updates that show where business development stands.

You'll also be growing. Through coaching, training, and shadowing Client Solution Managers, you'll gain exposure to the commercial, technical, and financial sides of the business and take on increasingly complex pursuits as you build toward a Client Solution Manager role.

Key Areas of Focus

  • Market Research and Opportunity Identification
  • Client Meeting and Relationship Support
  • CRM Data & Reporting
  • Technical Regulatory & Commercial Development

We want to speak to you if your background looks like this:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, business, data analytics, geography, communications, or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant professional, internship, or project experience in sales support, environmental services, consulting, research, proposals, or a related area.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional business materials.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and comfort learning new software and working across multiple systems, including CRM Systems.
  • Strong research, organization, time-management, and follow-through skills, with careful attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team, accept feedback, manage changing priorities, and work with appropriate urgency.

You will stand out more with these preferred qualifications:

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in ecological restoration, environmental mitigation, infrastructure, consulting, environmental permitting, or business development.
  • Exposure to HubSpot or similar CRM system, Adobe Acrobat Pro, ArcGIS or other mapping tools, business intelligence tools, and public-sector bidding resources such as GovWin.
  • Experience conducting market or client research, supporting proposals, coordinating deadlines, or preparing presentations and reports.
  • Interest in building a career in client solutions, consultative sales, or environmental markets.

Please note that the 'Day in the Life' section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of job duties, but rather a representative snapshot of typical responsibilities and work experiences at RES.

RES is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a VEVRAA Federal Contractor. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
