Job summary

Alta California Regional Center in California seeks a Client Services Manager to oversee the Self-Determination Unit, providing consultative support to case management and outreach for SDP services.

You will educate staff, clients and families on SDP and Person Centered Planning, support budgeting, and assist with documentation and reporting while coordinating with vendors and programs across the catchment area.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 3 years in a human service agency, or Bachelor’s with 5 years in a human service agency; developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, requirements and policy standards.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Strong time-management and organization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Self-Determination Unit and provide consultative and technical support.

  • Consult with vendors on certifications, applications, and referrals.

  • Assist coworkers with special projects and provide emergency on-call support.

Alta California Regional Center (ACRC) is a non-profit agency under contract to the State of California and for 50 years has provided the coordination of services to individuals with developmental disabilities. ACRC employs approximately 900+ persons working out of eight offices in a ten-county area. ACRC is one of 21 Regional Centers in California.

COMPENSATION

The below is dependent upon experience and education.

  • $88,004.80 - $101,899.20 per year

The actual amount offered within this range will depend on a variety of factors including skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant job-related factors. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

THE POSITION AND JOB SUMMARY

ACRC is seeking a Client Services Manager to provide management and oversight of the Self-Determination Unit, which serves to provide consultative and technical support to ACRC case management units, community outreach, and training related to services and supports provided via the Self Determination Program. Incumbents will remain in their designated office location and provide support to case management units for Lanterman eligible SDP clients throughout ACRC’s catchment area. Typical duties include educating ACRC Staff, clients, their families, and community members about the Self-Determination Program and Person Centered Planning, supporting case management units as they help clients and their families in acquiring and maintaining assessed supports and services including transportation, vocational training, day programming, education, mental health services, medical care, and independent living training; consulting with and assisting vendors with certifications, applications, and referrals; consultation regarding the development of SDP budgets and spending plans for Individual Program Plans for clients; providing consultation for monitoring these plans and revising them as necessary; Providing guidance to case management units on how to complete all required forms, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulations and ACRC policies and procedures; assisting co-workers with special projects, unique problems, vacation, and sick relief; and providing emergency on-call services when required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Extensive sitting at workstation, in meetings, and in vehicle (50%+ of time); Frequent standing and walking; Adequate manual dexterity and coordination to operate standard office equipment, such as computer, keyboard and mouse, copier, scanner, etc.; Hearing and vision corrected to normal range for operation of standard office equipment, transcription of documents and administration of electronic records; Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and stretching; Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. while moving paperwork, supplies, and other office materials; Ability to independently visit off site locations (i.e. client, group, residential and day programs, etc.); Occasional travel outside of catchment area of distances of 100+miles.

Applicants must possess a Master’s degree and have three years of experience in a human service (or related) agency, preferably in the field of developmental disabilities or a Bachelor’s degree and have five years of experience in a human service (or related) agency, preferably in the field of developmental disabilities; ability to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, requirements and policy standards; demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills; and have strong time‑management and organization skills.
