Job summary

Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP is seeking a dedicated laboratory support professional in Aiea, HI. The role involves resolving client issues through thorough investigation and accurate testing in a clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities include handling STATs/criticals, discrepancies in reports, and ensuring proper specimen handling. The position emphasizes confidentiality and adherence to PHI safeguards, with total weekly hours of 40.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in specimen collection or processing.
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist or resolve client issues by investigating and responding promptly.
• Help resolve discrepancies in reports by consulting with staff.
• Understand specimen requirements to provide accurate results.
• Recognize differences in specimen types and manage related tasks.
• Notify clients of STATs and Critical results.
• Identify and respond to critical values per guidelines.
• Track and monitor send-out tests.
• Assist in problem resolution and escalate to QA staff as needed.
• Maintain professional/technical knowledge via publications and CE events.
• Pursue referenced test results to meet client needs.

At Clinical Labs of Hawaii, our mission is to advance the health and well-being of our communities as a leader in clinical and pathology laboratory solutions. Location: Aiea, HI Status: Full-time Days/Hours: TBD Base hourly pay rate: $19.74 to $21.71

In this role, you will:

• Assists or resolves client issues by performing a thorough investigation of the issue, evaluating findings, and responding to the client in a timely and efficient manner
• Assists in resolving discrepancies in reports by consulting with technical and managerial staff
• Understands specimen requirements as they pertain to lab testing in order to provide accurate results.
• Ability to understand differences in specimen types
• Responsible for client notification of STATs and Criticals
• Understands and recognizes the Critical values based on the given guidelines and responds appropriately
• Assists in tracking and monitoring send out tests
• Assists in problem resolution for future applicability and forwards to the appropriate quality assurance individual (supervisor, manager, pathologist, etc)
• Maintains professional/technical knowledge by reading professional publications and attending continuing education seminars
• Pursues referenced test results to satisfy client needs and requests

All you need is:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
• Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
• Bonus points if you’ve got: 1 - 2 years of related experience in clinical laboratory, data entry, or production
