Job summary

Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking a Client Service Associate to join our Private Client Division in Washington, D.C.

The role focuses on servicing clients, scheduling, marketing support, and coordinating meetings, with high confidentiality and initiative in supporting executive discussions. The successful candidate will develop knowledge of account procedures, assist with marketing and events, and interact professionally with advisors and clients while maintaining accuracy and timely responses.

Qualifications

  • Willing to obtain FINRA registrations: SIE, Series 7 and 63/65 (or 66)
  • Bachelor's preferred
  • 1-2 years financial services/fixed income experience beneficial
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn internal software
  • Team player with energetic, positive disposition and growth mindset
  • Must maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Strong accuracy, thoroughness and organizational skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and clients under deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Learn and adapt to service needs of various accounts to answer day-to-day questions from clients and advisors

The firm is seeking a Client Service Associate to join our Private Client Division in Washington D.C. The primary responsibilities include servicing clients, marketing, scheduling, prioritizing meetings, managing database, general organizational support, as well as client interaction. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset in order to anticipate business needs, and will assume ad hoc responsibility for project-oriented tasks. This role will handle details of a highly confidential and critical nature and collect and prepare information for use in discussions/meetings of executive staff.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and adapt to service the needs of various accounts in order to answer day-to-day questions from clients and advisors
  • Quickly develop knowledge of a variety of forms and account procedures in order to assist clients
  • Learn to utilize research and technical support tools
  • Produce quality analytical reports using various software programs
  • Promote Firm services by enhancing relationships with advisors through timely and accurate responses to questions
  • Act with integrity and respect in all situations
  • Cultivate and grow existing client relationships
  • Assist with marketing efforts and plan client events
  • Prioritize daily work, track progress of projects and deadlines, answer phones, take messages and schedule appointments
  • Demonstrate initiative and desire to increase knowledge of rules, regulations and concepts
  • Local office interaction with other support members, Financial Advisors and Management
Skills/Requirements
  • Willing to obtain FINRA Registrations: SIE, Series 7 and 63/65 (or 66)

  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with technology including MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), and can quickly learn internal software programs

  • Demonstrate strong accuracy and thoroughness in all facets of daily work and possess superb organizational skills

Compensation: For job postings in Washington D.C, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to Washington D.C and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The current base salary offered for this role is $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which may include additional monthly incentive compensation and/or annual discretionary bonus.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
