Job summary

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a dynamic Client Service Director in Irvine to grow and strengthen our water and wastewater practice across the national footprint. You will lead client relationships, shape strategy, build teams, and oversee delivery of projects across water, wastewater, stormwater, and related services.

The role requires 15+ years in consulting/engineering, CA PE licensure or ability to obtain, and strong market knowledge. Hybrid work model with travel to sites and offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in consulting, engineering, or infrastructure services.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain licensure in CA.
• Strong knowledge of local municipal and industry client needs.
• Travel to client sites and Kennedy Jenks offices as required.
• Design-Build experience and DBIA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop opportunities by identifying new clients, projects, partnerships, and service areas aligned with water and wastewater growth.
• Advance client relationships using municipal and industry networks to expand offerings.
• Lead strategic pursuits: positioning, teaming, proposals, and pursuit planning.
• Build high-performing teams through hiring, staff development, and inclusive leadership.
• Oversee project development from planning to design and construction, coordinating scope and staffing.
• Contribute to delivery as project manager, engineer, or team member where leadership adds value.
