Professional Search by Kingsley Gate is seeking a Client Portfolio Manager on behalf of our client to join its Global Core and High Yield group. This team covers investment-grade fixed income, high yield, convertibles, and sector specific strategies; including, corporate and structured securities. The primary mandate is focused on the institutional channel, with some exposure to retail and wealth management.
The CPM serves as a critical bridge between the firms' investment teams and its institutional client base, acting as a subject matter expert and investment spokesperson for designated strategies. This is a genuinely hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role: the CPM is expected to produce client collateral, complete RFPs, develop pitchbooks, and execute across all facets of strategy commercialization.
The group's overarching mission is to commercialize investment strategies and retain and grow relationships with large institutional clients through high-touch service and deep investment expertise. The ideal candidate brings deep fixed income knowledge, proven institutional client experience, and the entrepreneurial drive to help firm expand its institutional presence.

Atlanta, Georgia | 4 days in office with 1 work from home day
Ideal Candidate
- Deep, working knowledge of fixed income markets is the primary requirement — candidates must be able to speak credibly to rates, spreads, and key fixed income sectors, including Treasuries, mortgages, investment‑grade credit (structured, multi‑sector, and corporate), and high yield.
- Proven experience engaging institutional clients — ability to read the room, navigate consultant relationships, and deliver investment content to sophisticated audiences
- Genuinely hands‑on and execution‑oriented: willing to produce collateral, complete RFPs, develop pitchbooks, and contribute across all facets of commercialization.
- Comfortable in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment where team scope and priorities evolve
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities, particularly within the institutional channel where firm has significant runway to expand its presence.
- Collaborative and collegial: builds strong working relationships with portfolio managers and cross‑functional teams; a thoughtful contributor who enables productive dialogue
- Hard‑working, creative, and genuinely pleasant to work with.
- Down‑to‑earth and flexible, with a willingness to work outside the traditional structure of the role on new opportunities as they arise.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing and delivering high‑quality investment content at the senior level.
- Familiarity with retail investment vehicles
- Familiarity with the competitive asset management landscape and awareness of trends shaping fixed income strategies and institutional client needs.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- CFA designation is strongly preferred; CAIA designation is also strongly preferred — both are viewed as meaningful evidence of commitment and expertise within the investment management industry; progress toward either credential is appreciated where the designation has not yet been completed.
- An MBA is not a priority for this role; professional investment certifications carry significantly greater weight in this context.
- FINRA licenses — Series 7, 63, and 66 — are nice to have; willingness to obtain applicable licenses is expected.
- Solid working knowledge of fixed income markets is essential, with particular depth in investment‑grade markets including structured securities, credit, and multi‑sector strategies.
- Demonstrated experience working with institutional clients, including familiarity with RFP processes, fixed income guideline reviews, portfolio and performance reporting, and presenting on behalf of portfolio management teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience producing and delivering high‑quality investment content and presentations.
- Proficiency in portfolio analytics tools, performance reporting systems, and investment data platforms is beneficial.
- Knowledge of retail investment vehicles — particularly mutual funds and ETFs — is a valued complement to the institutional skill set required for this role.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment
