Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a National Client Executive to own the client experience for assigned national accounts in the United States. You will lead a team, drive renewal strategies, and coordinate with sales and practice leaders to exceed client expectations.

You will review financial metrics, develop growth strategies, negotiate complex contracts, and ensure profitable expansion of the client base while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • 5+ years of group insurance experience servicing clients and managing client relationships.
  • Group Life and Health licenses required.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage own work autonomously.
  • Strong presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with focus on client outcomes.
  • High level of customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and prioritize daily tasks.
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
  • Adaptable to a changing business environment.
  • Experience in absence management, disability, leave and life insurance; client management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the entire client relationship for assigned national clients.
  • Lead a team to fulfill promises and leverage service capabilities.
  • Review financial metrics, retention and growth for the client block.
  • Drive renewal strategy for premier clients with input from sales/leadership.
  • Provide comprehensive service and assist in profitable growth of the book of business.
  • Lead finalist meetings with large teams and navigate complex discussions.
  • Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities across lines of business.
  • Manage mergers/divestitures to ensure smooth transitions for clients.
  • Negotiate complex performance guarantees with clients.
  • Discuss downstream effects of plan changes with clients.
  • Meet or exceed service, retention, implementations and satisfaction metrics.
  • Develop strategies to grow existing top client book of business.
  • Develop and manage annual client strategies for persistency and growth.
  • Interpret client data relative to benchmarks and trends.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on client data and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales, Implementation, and support teams to drive new and existing business.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • The National Client Executive is accountable for all aspects of the customer experience with assigned national clients as well as managing and owning the overall client relationship.
  • As the lead of a team of professionals, they will deliver on our promises, fully leverage the power of our service capabilities to exceed expectations and problem solve for custom client needs.
  • They will review the financial metrics, retention and growth of the assigned block.
  • Drives the client renewal strategy for premier client base, with input from sales and/or practice leaders.
  • Provides comprehensive service and directly assists in profitably growing the company’s top consulting base.
  • Leads finalist meetings typically with large teams and can include navigating complex solution discussions.
  • Proactively identifies and executes cross sell opportunities (additional lines of business).
  • Manages merger and divesture activities with clients to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Manages and negotiates complex performance guarantees.
  • Drives client conversations around potential downstream effects of certain changes to plan.
  • Achieves or exceeds assigned metrics (such as service, client persistency, implementations and customer satisfaction).
  • Develops an effective, efficient strategy and workflow for growing the existing book of business of the company’s top clients.
  • Develops and manages annual client strategies to ensure persistency and profitable growth.
  • Interprets and delivers client data in relationship to benchmark data.
  • Provides suggested strategies for the client’s future based on client data and industry trends. Typically, these strategies require a high level of customization.
  • Works closely with the Regional Sales Office, Implementation Manager, and internal support resources in order to develop an effective and efficient strategy and workflow for new and existing business.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) – Business or related
  • 5+ years of group insurance experience servicing clients/ client management
  • Group Life and Health License(s) required
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications required including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated with the ability and manage own work.
  • Consistently champions company and department vision and goals; drives client adherence to initiatives.
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, manage tight deadlines

  • Experience in negotiating complex contracts and agreements.
  • Highly Adaptable with an ability to learn and grow in an ever changing environment
  • At least 3 years of group insurance experience, absence management, disability, leave and life insurance. As well as experience in client management, sales or underwriting
