Tiger Recruitment is partnering with a California-based tax advisory, seeking a Client Advocate. You will act as the primary escalation contact between clients and the firm. Your responsibility is to ensure every client receives outstanding service, their issues are handled promptly, and they feel supported and confident throughout their relationship with the firm. This role involves guiding clients through accounting and tax processes, representing their interests internally, and strengthening long-term client relationships by prioritizing satisfaction and trust.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the main liaison between the firm and clients by maintaining consistent communication (onboarding, addressing escalated concerns, monitoring satisfaction and retention) while setting clear expectations.
  • Build and nurture strong client relationships by understanding their goals, tailoring service to their needs, and anticipating future requirements.
  • Manage and monitor an assigned portfolio of clients.
  • Resolve Level 1 escalations referred by Front Desk Administrative Assistants or Document Specialists.

Client Support & Service Delivery

  • Collaborate with accounting, tax, and consulting teams to resolve inquiries efficiently. Partner with tax professionals and, when necessary, simplify complex accounting/tax concepts for clients.
  • Provide regular updates on client projects, tax returns, or financial statements, and ensure proactive follow-up on deadlines.
  • Oversee the delivery pipeline, including preparing tax invoices, processing payments, and compiling returns.

Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution

  • Address and resolve client complaints in a professional, timely manner with the goal of retaining client trust and business.
  • Serve as the in-office point of contact for Client Services team members, including Document Specialists, Front Desk staff, and seasonal employees.
  • Provide backup support for fellow Client Advocates and team members during absences or as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Participate in internal training opportunities.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by Client Services or Tax leadership.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in customer service, administrative support, or executive assistance.
  • 5+ years of experience managing client relationships, ideally within accounting, finance, or tax services. Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and negotiation are essential.
  • Strong proficiency in CRM tools, tax software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with accounting/tax software such as CCH, QuickBooks, Xero, or UltraTax is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical information. Strong listening skills, problem-solving ability, and a client-first mindset are required.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail. Able to manage multiple client needs and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior team members.
  • Knowledge of accounting and tax principles; familiarity with US tax regulations is advantageous for firms with US-based clients.
