Job summary

North Carolina Courts is seeking a Client Advocate to assist clients and attorneys in navigating gaps in access to treatment, public benefits, and social determinate needs within Henderson County. You will engage directly with court appointed defendants and connect them with services to support fair outcomes.

The position is full-time, time-limited and grant funded through January 31, 2028. A Bachelor's degree in social work or related field and one year of human services experience are

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or another human services field plus one year of work experience.
• Management prefers candidates with a Bachelor's degree in social work or related field and two years of experience.
• Certified Peer Support Specialists and Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist public defenders by providing information to aid in favorable case outcomes.
• Provide reports and updates to attorneys.
• Assist clients with identifying treatment options and enrollment, logistics, and related needs.
