Job summary

BBH in Boston is seeking a Client Accounting Supervisor to lead the Alts client service accounting team. You will manage and mentor 2–4 Client Service Representatives and Senior Representatives, and partner with external alternatives client contacts to deliver exceptional service.

The role covers NAV packages, fund accounting across hedge, PE, real estate funds, and supports audits and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in a business-related field.
  • 3+ years of Alternatives Fund Accounting, Global Custody, and/or Transfer Agency preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
  • Detailed knowledge in Hedge Funds, Public/Private Debt Funds, Private Equity, or Real Estate Funds.
  • Highly proficient with Excel.
  • Working knowledge of WSO preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and approve NAV packages and allocations for funds.
  • Reconcile transactions and balances with supporting documents.
  • Assist clients with complex calculations (IRR, management fees, waterfall).
  • Support year-end audits, regulatory reporting and tax preparation.
  • Collaborate with Alts financial reporting team during quarterly and annual cycles.
  • Prepare/review investor capital calls and distributions.
  • Update policies, procedures and controls; implement new tech tools.
  • Oversee training and cross-training of staff.
  • Provide feedback and coaching; participate in annual performance reviews.
  • Help coordinate new business/product implementations and conversions.

As a Client Accounting Supervisor within the Alts group, you will lead the client service accounting team to achieve overall client satisfaction and serve as a point of escalation for complex issues. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring 2-4 Client Service Representatives and Senior Client Service Representatives, as well as interacting with external alternatives client contacts. You will be expected to participate in client conversations and understand alternative investment concepts related to one or more of the following alternatives industry segments: hedge, private equity, private debt, and/or real estate funds. As a member of the Alternatives Client Service Group, you will help clients improve performance in all aspects. You will serve as a vital conduit between your team and your clients to ensure we meet their differentiated needs and exceed their expectations. The high level of external and internal interaction will enable you to continuously challenge yourself, sharpen your critical thinking skills and play a critical role in the growth of the firm.

Key responsibilities
  • Prepare, review and approve monthly and quarterly NAV packages and allocations for funds investing in equity, fixed income, fund-of-PE-funds, fund-of-hedge-funds, private debt, syndicated debt, private equity, real estate funds, OTC and various other financial instruments
  • Reconcile transaction details and balances from the general ledger to third party supporting documentation including, underlying fund investment capital statements, private loan documents, prime brokerage statements, Markit WSO reporting, and client’s supplemental reporting
  • Work with clients to solve complex problems, including but not limited to equalization, IRR calculations, management fee calculations, and waterfall/carry calculations
  • Assist in providing support towards year-end fund financial statement audit, regulatory reporting and tax preparation services
  • Work closely with the BBH Alts financial reporting team during the quarterly and annual cycle
  • Prepare and review investor capital call and distributions
  • Aid in enhancing and enacting new policies, procedures and internal controls, including implementation of new technology tools and updates to associated procedural guides
  • Oversee and ensure training and cross training of employees on relevant job functions to develop breadth and depth of knowledge.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff to improve individual performance, including BBH’s annual performance review process.
  • Assist in implementing the coordination of new business and product implementations and conversions.

Salary Range $70,000 - $100,000 base salary + annual target bonus

BBH and its affiliates' compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
