Job description

Cushman & Wakefield is looking to add a Client Accounting Coordinator to its team in the Maryville (St. Louis) office. This will be a fully onsite role and this person will be responsible for providing accounting, technical, and clerical support to the Client Accounting team. This position is responsible for fulfilling support functions including accounts payable, bank reconciliation, and general accounting duties.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  1. Provides support to Accounting Specialists, Accountants, and Accounting Managers as needed.
  2. Performs the duties of other Client Accounting Coordinators as required (in their absence).
  3. Supports and enforces company and accounting policies as well as all applicable federal, state and local statutes and regulations.
  4. Completes team functions as defined by the designated department manager or Department Lead including, but not limited to, processing accounts payable, reconciling bank accounts, or performing basic audit work.
  5. Compiles and sorts documents such as forms, invoices, checks, and bank statements.
  6. Performs any combination of calculating, posting, or verifying duties to confirm the details of business transactions and maintain financial information.
  7. Compares data contained in a variety of financial records in order to detect trends, errors, or anomalies.
  8. Maintains files and support documentation required to authenticate business transactions.
  9. Achieves high productivity through reliable and punctual on-site attendance, and timely reports any tardiness and/or attendance issues to immediate supervisor.
  10. Applies quality measures and standards within all areas of responsibility to support the company’s mission, vision, and core values.
  11. Ability to provide professional support for an assigned team and cultivate value, trust, and positive relations among team and individuals.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  1. A basic knowledge of accounting functions.
  2. A functional understanding of current accounting software and Microsoft Office products.
  3. Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to recognize problems early and produce prompt resolutions.
  4. Ability to prioritize and focus on critical tasks as well as shift focus or multitask when appropriate.
  5. Capable of working within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment while generating timely results.
  6. Self-motivated to achieve or exceed performance standards and goals set forth by department.
  7. Integrity, objectivity, and accountability in performing assigned duties.
  8. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently, while exercising interdependence within an assigned team.
  10. Diplomacy to develop and preserve positive relations with team members.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other comparable business-related degree OR two plus years of similar work experience.
  2. Prior accounting experience is not required for this entry-level position.
