Job summary

Wesley Medical Center is seeking a Clerk PHO PACU to support OR scheduling and related clerical duties. You will help ensure accurate surgery schedules, coordinate anesthesia coverage, and act as a liaison between surgeons, clinical coordinators, and physician offices.

The role emphasizes strong communication, multi-tasking, and customer service skills, with no prior experience required and opportunities to grow within HCA Healthcare's Wesley network.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate and current surgery schedule and monitors schedule for appropriate room scheduling.
• Schedules anesthesia coverage for all departments in the hospital with the exception of the obstetrical units.
• Assists with the flow of the OR desk by performing a variety of clerical and support functions.
• Manages and routes faxes to appropriate personnel.
• Notifies customer service representatives on pending cases for which they need to be present.
• Assists the OR Charge Nurse as necessary.
• Promotes Wesley services and schedule availability to physician schedulers.
• Communicates directly with surgeons on case requirements.
• Communicates needs of surgeons to Clinical Coordinators in a timely and effective manner.
• Evaluates surgery reservation forms for case accuracy.
• Manages location and anesthesia requirements in relation to OR efficiencies, turnover and first case start time.
• Acts as a liaison between Wesley OR and physician offices.
• Identifies preference card discrepancies and surgeon requests.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Identifies preference card discrepancies and surgeons requests and reports changes to the OR Supervisor for updating Preferred Registration, Licensure or Certification: Previous surgery scheduling experience specific to operating room cases preferred
