Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller is seeking a full-time, non-supervisory Circuit Criminal Clerk I to manage court files for arrestable offenses in Manatee County. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of data maintenance experience, plus basic math and filing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain complete and accurate records using the case management system.
  • Prepare cases/dockets for court within required deadlines using case management software.
  • Prepare and issue notices, summons, subpoenas, writs, and/or warrants as required.
  • Participates in division cross training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support efficient functioning of the assigned division work.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Job description

The Criminal division of the Clerk's office manages court files of all arrestable offenses that occur in Manatee County. Felonies are under the jurisdiction of the Circuit Court. The Court Clerk I/Circuit Criminal position is a full-time, non-supervisory position reporting to the Supervisor of Criminal.

  • High School diploma or GED
  • One year of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environment
  • Basic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills are required
  • Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suite
  • Once qualified, deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions
