Job summary

Culp, Inc. is seeking a Clerk Expeditor to handle the distribution/printing of orders for shipping and to prepare Bill of Ladings and related documents. The role involves detailed daily tasks and backup duties as Ticket Expeditor and Warehouse Systems Operator.

The ideal candidate will have HSD/GED, be capable in a fast-paced setting, and possess PC and Windows skills, with familiarity in FedEx Ship Manager and UPS WorldShip preferred.

Qualifications

  • HSD/GED required.
  • Shipping/receiving experience preferred.
  • AS400 knowledge or equivalent systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Distribute and print all orders for shipping and prepare bills of lading.
  • Answer doorbell, greet drivers and assign dock doors.
  • Use AS400 and shipping software to process orders and print documents.
  • Coordinate with drivers and customer service via phone/email.
  • Prepare paperwork for drivers and verify shipment details.
  • Back up as Ticket Expeditor and Warehouse Systems Operator as needed.

Job description

Position Summary:

The position will distribute/print all orders for shipping and will provide Bill of Ladings for completed orders. Clerk Expeditor involves detailed work in completing daily tasks of which include a variety of routine office support functions. The position will back up as a Ticket Expeditor and Warehouse Systems Operator when required.

Position responsibilities:
  • The responsibilities listed below will be required of the employee along with any other requests provided by the supervisor.
  • Answer the doorbell, greet drivers and assign dock door
  • Daily usage of AS400 program
  • Print releases for shipping
  • Ticket Maintenance
  • Print Bill of Ladings/Custom Documents/Truck Manifests
  • Provide the Pullers with orders
  • Communicate via phone/email with customer service representatives
  • Email shipping/trailer info to trucking companies
  • Sign-In/Out our switcher
  • Prepare printed Bill of Ladings for shipments
  • Provide prepared paperwork to drivers
  • Occasional use of RF Scanners
  • Daily usage of 2-Way Radios
  • Ticket Expeditors
  • Floor Leads/Supervisor/Manger
  • Assist with processing FedEx and UPS shipments
  • Training on the Ticket Expeditor position and the Warehouse Systems Operator for backup purposes
  • Follows all safety procedures and policies and advises supervision of any unsafe conditions.
  • Any other duties as requested by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • PC and knowledge of Windows
  • FedEx Ship Manager/UPS WorldShip knowledge preferred
  • Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
