Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support DoD/IC customers in a dynamic Agile environment. You will design, develop, test, and deploy a complex system with a focus on secure, scalable cloud networking.

The role requires a TS/SCI-clearable candidate with DoD network ops experience and strong vendor knowledge. You will work on classified networks, configure VLANs/VPNs/firewalls, and mentor Tier teams while driving automation and incident response.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• DoD-level network engineering experience per degree requirement (Assoc 10+, Bach 8+, Master 6+).
• Meets DoD 8140 foundational requirements for Network Operations Specialist.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining networks in a classified environment.
• Experience configuring VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switches/routers (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, Palo Alto).
• Strong IP addressing and subnetting knowledge.
• 3–5 years operating/maintaining/troubleshooting DoD encryption/COMSEC equipment.
• Background in supporting software and/or network operations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Agile meetings and plan work for sprints and increments.
• Develop and document WAN/LAN requirements for upcoming projects.
• Provide support and guidance to Tier teams on network anomalies.
• Configure firewalls, switches, and routers; support other network tasks.
• Design automation to deploy cloud network infrastructure and improve efficiency.
• Create scalable, highly available network architectures for new systems.
• Document incident details, track through completion in ticketing tool.
• Utilize monitoring tools to gain insights and act on results.
• Prepare network designs, implementation plans, and ongoing service improvements.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud networking solutions and aid in procurement.

Required qualifications:

Whatyou'lldo:

• Participate in Agile meetings (sprint planning, daily standups, sprint retrospectives, sprint reviews, etc.) and work in an Agile process to plan your work for future sprints and increments
• Work with teams across Group and customers to understand cloud networking requirements for upcoming projects; develop and document Wide Area Networks (WANs) / Local Area Networks (LANs)
• Provide support and guidance to the Tier teams on the identification, isolation and troubleshoot network anomalies.
• Track network system build-out status, specify and configure firewalls, switches, and routers, and support other systems and network engineering tasks, asrequired.
• Design and implement automation through scripting and other techniques to implement cloud network infrastructure and improve operational efficiencies.
• Create network architectures and designs that arehighly availableand scalable for newcustomerssystems and solutions to meet defined requirements
• Coordinate with tenant to fully understand incident reported including documenting incident details in ticketing tool, assign asappropriate, and track through completion.
• Usestate-of-the-artmonitoring tools to gather insight and act upon results
• Create network designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continual improvement of cloud network services
• Evaluate and recommend potential cloud networking solutions for inclusion into customer cloud service offerings and application migration solutions;participatein the procurement of network devices.
