Job summary

VSO is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer to deploy and manage Azure resources, implement IaC, and maintain secure enclave environments. The role requires 5+ years in Azure, TS/SCI clearance, and willingness to relocate to the Lorton, VA area.

You will work onsite with a focus on automation, security, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver resilient cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of cloud administration and development focused on Microsoft Azure.
• Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to relocate to Lorton, VA.

Responsibilities

• Deploy Azure resources via ARM templates, Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Monitor and optimize Azure infrastructure for performance and cost.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Review and troubleshoot IaC across the Azure environment.
• Design and manage secure enclave environments within Microsoft Azure.
• Manage IAM policies with least-privilege access across enclave systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex Azure issues and provide escalation support as needed.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Build and rotate Azure AVD images through automation.
• Administer Windows infrastructure services: AD DS, AD CS, and Group Policy.
• Assist customers in installing software onto baseline desktops using automation (DSC or Packer).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy Azure resources such as Azure Virtual Machines, Key Vaults, and other core Azure resources using Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Monitor and maintain Azure infrastructure, addressing performance issues and optimizing cloud resources.
• Implement and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Bicep.
• Review, refine and troubleshoot new and existing IaC within the environment.
• Design, implement, and manage secure enclave environments within Microsoft Azure.
• Ensure the stability, performance, and security of Azure enclave systems.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM) policies, ensuring least privilege access across enclave systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enhance cloud solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex issues within Azure environments, providing escalation support as needed.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting processes.
• Azure AVD image building and rotation via automation.
• Administer and maintain Windows infrastructure services, including Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Certificate Services, and Group Policy, ensuring secure account provisioning, certificate management, policy enforcement, and resolution of domain-related issues
• Provide support in assisting customers installing software onto baseline desktops using an automation first mentality (DSC or Packer).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in cloud administration and development, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working in secure enclave environments and familiarity with security compliance frameworks
• Strong knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Virtual Desktop
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Azure DevOps, ARM templates, or Bicep.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and other scripting languages
• Strong experience with automating the deployment of Azure resources via code
• Strong knowledge of YAML, Json, Bicep and PowerShell
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Travel: Up to 10%
• Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI.

• Must be within driving distance of Lorton, VA OR willing to relocate there
• Must be willing to work onsite
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%
• Must possess an active TS/ SCI clearance or above
• Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizenship status
