Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer to join the fab engineering group. You will focus on establishing world-class processes and equipment, driving yield improvements, and solving complex problems with a collaborative team.

The role requires 2+ years of experience and a BS/MS in engineering or sciences, with scripting skills in Python or VBA and experience in data analysis and statistical methods. This is an on-site, full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
• Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods.
• Experience with Change Point Management and Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the wafer fabrication process by responding to in-line issues and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualify the wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate the scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions about processing product.
• Make adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitor parameters after maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicate technical information within the department through presentations.
• Continuously revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and develop improved processes to increase capability.

The fab engineering group at Samsung Austin Semiconductor is looking to hire our next team member who is a process engineer. In this role you’ll be working alongside a talented team of professionals with a key focus on establishing and maintaining world class process/equipment and implementing yield enhancement as a competitive advantage along with ability to identify complex problems and implementing solutions.

Skills and Qualifications

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 2+ years prior work experience
• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language
• Understanding of statistical methods
• Experience with Change Point Management and Lean, TPS, or 5S principles
• Experience with Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc..)
• Experience with Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.)
• Ability to Troubleshoot Equipment or Process failure
• Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) per the SAS FAB protocol and Must be able to lift Ability to sit at a computer terminal, uses a computer for extended periods of time and may be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lights

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000.00 - $120,000.00. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Night Shifts Include:

• B Shift - Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm - 7:15am) with alternating Saturdays
• D Shift - Wednesday through Friday (6:45pm - 7:15pm) with alternating Saturdays
