Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Cleanroom & Contamination Control Engineer to ensure high‑reliability aerospace and space products are manufactured in controlled environments meeting stringent standards. You will work across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, EH&S, and Supply Chain to prevent contamination risks that could affect product performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry required.
  • 2 to 5+ years in contamination control or related fields.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring and cleanroom processes preferred.
  • ISO 14644 cleanroom standards experience preferred.
  • AS9100/ANSI/ESD S20.20 preferred.
  • Travel up to 10% required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contamination control programs for cleanroom manufacturing, assembly, testing, and inspection activities.
  • Maintain cleanroom procedures, operating standards, and contamination control plans.
  • Monitor environmental conditions including particulates, temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, ESD, calibration and preventive maintenance.
  • Coordinate cleanroom certifications and compliance activities.
  • Conduct contamination risk assessments for new products, materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Investigate contamination events and product issues using root cause analysis.
  • Analyze environmental monitoring data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support process qualification, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare for and support customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Develop and deliver training on cleanroom practices, contamination awareness, and foreign object prevention.

Cleanroom & Contamination Control Engineer

As our Cleanroom & Contamination Control Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring high-reliability aerospace and space products are manufactured in controlled environments that meet the highest industry and customer standards. Working across Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, Environmental Health & Safety, and Supply Chain, you will help prevent contamination risks that could impact product performance and reliability.

What you’ll do
  • Lead contamination control programs for cleanroom manufacturing, assembly, testing, and inspection activities.
  • Maintain cleanroom procedures, operating standards, and contamination control plans.
  • Monitor environmental conditions including particulate levels, temperature, humidity, pressure, airflow, electrostatic discharge, calibration, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate cleanroom certifications and compliance activities.
  • Conduct contamination risk assessments for new products, materials, equipment, and processes.
  • Investigate contamination events and product issues using structured root cause analysis methods.
  • Analyze environmental monitoring data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support process qualification, validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare for and support customer, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Develop and deliver training on cleanroom practices, contamination awareness, and foreign object prevention.
What you need
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical communication skills – required
  • Experience with root cause investigations and corrective action processes – required
  • Knowledge of cleanroom operations, contamination control, and environmental monitoring – required
  • ISO 14644 cleanroom standards experience – preferred
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ANSI/ESD S20.20 requirements – preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma experience – preferred
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience in contamination control, quality, manufacturing, mission assurance, or similar environments – required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field – required
  • travel up to 10% – required

Salary Range

Salary Range: $96,600.00-$128,800.000 The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
