Job summary

The JCC of Binghamton is seeking a part-time cleaner to help maintain a spotless facility, including classrooms, health clubs, and restrooms. The schedule is Sunday 2:00-7:00 PM plus two weeknights 5:30-10:30 PM, with potential for additional hours as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of cleaning experience, reliable transportation, and strong time-management skills. Training on cleaning equipment such as auto-scrubbers will be provided.

Responsibilities

Principal Responsibilities:

Title: Part-Time Cleaner

Reports To: Facilities Director

Schedule: Sunday 2:00-7:00 PM plus 2 weeknights 5:30 - 10:30 PM (flexible on weeknights you want to work) with opportunity for additional hours on an as needed basis

The Opportunity: The Binghamton JCC is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to help keep our facility spotlessly clean. Your tasks will include:

• Cleaning Classrooms & Bathrooms
• Cleaning Health Clubs & Locker Rooms
• Handling set-ups and take-downs for various activities
• Mop floors, hallways & stairwells
• Vacuum rugs & shampoo carpets
• Use of auto-scrubber (will train) for hallways, Meeting room, and Auditorium
• Other miscellaneous tasks as requested

Salary: $16.25 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:

Who You Are: Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-years experience in cleaning commercial or educational facilities. You must have reliable transportation to and from work, and pride yourself on being on time to work every day. You must have the ability to work independently, love to clean, and have strong time-management skills. You should have a basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment that are used to clean a large facility. We will provide additional training as needed.

Since its inception in 1927, the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Binghamton, NY has grown to become an essential part of the Broome County community. As a full-service, non-profit organization, the JCC provides educational, cultural, recreational, and physical fitness programs to enhance the quality of life for all ages, from infants to senior citizens. As a non-sectarian United Way partner, the JCC welcomes participants regardless of age, religion, sexual orientation, nationality, or ability to pay.

The JCC facility houses a natatorium with a 2,250 square foot pool, newly refurbished gymnasium, fitness center, men's and women's health clubs with steam rooms and saunas, a fitness loft with spin bikes and Pilates reformers, auditorium, and more. Over 200 children are served daily at our award-winning Early Childhood Education center. Our year-round educational childcare includes UPK, after-school programs, summer camp, and youth sports offerings.

The 8-acre land also features outdoor Tennis/Pickleball and Basketball courts, Soccer field, and three age-appropriate playground facilities.
