Job summary

Planet Fitness - Fitton Clubs seeks an Overnight Cleaner to ensure the facility remains clean and welcoming for members and guests. You will perform routine cleaning, support a positive member experience, and comply with required certifications and on-site duties.

Responsibilities include sanitizing restrooms and common areas, cleaning equipment, and assisting with general club upkeep while maintaining high safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Background check mandatory including National Criminal Scan and registries.
• Must obtain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.
• Must obtain Tanning Certification within required timeframes.
• This position requires on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleaning of all assigned areas per Planet Fitness standards.
• Disinfect and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and equipment.
• Wipe and sanitize fitness equipment, weights, and cardio machines.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facility; manage waste.
• Maintain supply levels and notify management when inventory is low.

Position: CLEANER - Overnight Shift

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Reports to: Club Manager / Assistant Club Manager

Requirements:

• Overnight Cleaners must submit to a background check consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List and County Criminal Search. Continued employment will be based on satisfactory outcome of the background check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within time frames required by company and maintain physical ability to perform CPR/AED in the event of a medical emergency.
• Must obtain Tanning Certification within time frame required by company.
• This position requires employee to work on-site

We are searching for a motivated Cleaner to join our team! As a member of our staff, you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness of all areas of the facility and maintain a positive member experience. You will also provide a superior level of customer service to Planet Fitness members, prospective members and guests, ensuring an exceptional “Judgement Free” member experience! Some of your responsibilities will include:

Facility Cleaning

• Maintain daily cleaning of all assigned areas floor in accordance with Planet Fitness standards and guidelines.
• Thoroughly clean, disinfect and sanitize all common areas, ie restroom, locker rooms, Black Card Spa, showers, bathroom toilet and stalls, sinks and floors
• Wipe down and disinfect fitness equipment, weights, and cardio machines.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust throughout the facility.
• Empty and dispose of trash and recycling. Maintain trash cans and cleaning stations.
• Refill cleaning supplies, paper products, and soap dispensers as needed and notify management when inventory is low
• Maintain cleaning equipment, (clean the mop, bucket, empty vacuum bags, etc.)
• Other cleaning duties as needed or assigned by management.

Safety & Maintenance

• Clean and post signage for unsafe conditions, such as wet/slippery floors in locker rooms, bathrooms, shower areas and tanning rooms
• Report broken or missing amenities or equipment (toilets, faucets, showers, hair dryers, gym equipment etc.) to management promptly.
• Follow “Lost and Found Policy” and notify lost member property to the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager immediately.
• Follow all Planet Fitness cleaning and sanitization protocols.

Member Experience

• Greet members in a friendly, professional manner when in common areas
• Help maintain a welcoming and positive club environment.
• Ensure that cleaning duties and performed discreetly and efficiently during open hours
• Some cross training may be provided to assist in front desk duties should the club need additional coverage.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Applicants for an overnight position must submit to a 7-year criminal background check within the first week of hire. Continued employment will be based on satisfactory outcome of the background check.

Required:

• Must be 18 year of age or older.
• Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail.
• Strong sense of honesty and exceptional work ethic.
• Commitment to cleanliness and creating a positive member experience
• Willingness to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.
• Obtain Tanning Certification within company required timeframes.

Preferred:

• Previous janitorial, cleaning, or custodial experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

• Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor field environment.
• Travel from site to site.
• Exposure to noise, dust, grease, gasses, cleaning chemicals, mechanical and electrical hazards and all types of weather and temperature conditions.
• Requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to climb unusual heights on ladders; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight (over 80lbs).
• Verbally communicate to exchange information.
• Must maintain physical ability to administer CPR in the event of a medical emergency.
• See and hear in the normal visual/audio range with or without correction.
