Job summary

MEK Enterprises, Inc. in San Diego, CA is seeking a Commercial Janitor to support municipal clients with restroom cleaning, sanitation and upkeep. You will follow established cleaning protocols, use supplied products, and report daily activities.

This role offers flexible schedules including weekdays, weekends, and evenings, with overtime available. Candidates should be physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, communicate in English, and have reliable transportation.

As a Commercial Janitor, you’ll be responsible for:

• Cleaning various restrooms for our contracted municipal clients
• Using various cleaning supplies provided by MEK Enterprises
• Applying methods to ensure restrooms are loaded with supplies
• Cleaning and disinfect surfaces of floors, countertops, walls, fixtures, grates and windows
• Preparing parks and recreation restroom facilities for public use.

Our team members take pride in their work, and it shows! You’ll need to learn from the team how to be efficient and effective in your strategy of cleaning.

It is helpful if you have previous experience in professional cleaning tasks such as removing dust, dirt, debris, stains, and trash.

This job is great for those who are physically active. To do your job well, you’ll need the ability to frequently bend, twist, walk, lift, carry, and stand for extended periods of time as well as to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.

This job requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend basic instructions in English, compose short correspondence, and understand verbal instructions, policy documents, product warning labels, and the ability to read/follow directions.

This job has variable work hours, and schedules that may change with little advanced notice, and offers flexibility of weekdays, weekends, evenings, plus offers overtime hours with supervisor approval.

We offer a work app to track task completions so you may use the convenience of your own smartphone. You must have a good driving record and the ability to drive a work van from job to job, plus have reliable transportation to get to/from work. You should be very detail oriented, be able to write and file detailed daily reports and log photos with documentation. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
