Job summary

Mercy Health Australia is seeking a Casual Cleaner at Mercy Place Mont Clare to help maintain cleanliness and hygiene across the facility, ensuring residents’ well-being and comfort through routine tasks and attention to detail.

You will mop, vacuum, dust and sanitise, support infection control, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for elderly residents. Experience in cleaning or aged care is preferred, and evidence of vaccination may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles.
• Ability to work independently; maintain cleanliness standards.
• Compassion and empathy towards elderly residents.
• Aged Care or Health environment experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facility.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitising) in common areas, resident rooms and restrooms.

You will play a crucial part in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards of our facility, ensuring the well-being and comfort of elderly residents. General responsibilities include routine cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing common areas, resident rooms, and restrooms.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in cleaning or housekeeping roles
• Ability to work independently, a commitment to maintaining cleanliness standards
• A sense of compassion and empathy towards elderly residents
• Experience working in Aged Care or Health environment (desirable but not essential)

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

• Valid Police Clearance
• Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
