Job summary

The City of Orlando Careers is seeking a part-time seasonal Laborer to support city cleaning and landscaping needs. You will remove trash from public areas and maintain greenery along rights-of-way, either on foot or by vehicle, depending on the route.

Responsibilities include planting, weeding, pruning, and using landscape tools. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with schedules that include weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of laborer experience preferred in landscaping, maintenance, or cleanup.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
• Must meet physical and environmental demands of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Part-time position with no guaranteed hours and no benefits.

Job Summary Salary: $15.00 Hourly

Work Hours:

• -7:00 am to 4:00pm
• -Weekends and holidays may be required based on business needs.

Nature of Work

• Removes trash/debris from city receptacles and from public areas.

Minimum Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Six (6) months of laborer experience, either in landscaping, maintenance, or construction cleanup is preferred.
• A valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
• Must meet physical and environmental demands of working outdoors in all weather conditions for most of the day; exposure to insects, chemicals, and traffic fumes; danger of working in public right-of-way; and performing demanding physical labor.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

VALID DRIVER LICENSE FROM ANY STATE MUST BE PRESENTED AT TIME OF INTERVIEW.

VALID FLORIDA DRIVER LICENSE MUST BE PRESENTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE.

THIS IS A PART_TIME_POSITION WITH NO GUARANTEE OF A CERTAIN NUMBER OF HOURS AND NO BENEFITS.

THIS POSITION INVOLVES WORKING ON A TEMP/SEASONAL CONTRACT WHICH CAN BE RENEWED ANNUALLY BASED ON PERFORMANCE AND BUSINESS NEEED.
